In December 2025, Texas Instruments officially opened its newest semiconductor fab in Sherman, Texas, USA, just three and a half years after breaking ground. The company said the new facility, called SM1, will ramp according to customer demand, ultimately producing tens of millions of chips daily when fully utilized.
EE Times was given an opportunity to step inside the fab to look at some of the key areas of the manufacturing process. Watch this video as Mike Haggerty, the factory manager at the Sherman facility, gives us a tour and explains the processes involved to EE Times' Nitin Dahad.
