At the NXP Tech Days event in Santa Clara, California, NXP Semiconductors announced its new MCX A5 family of MCUs, targeting industrial and IoT edge applications.
The company claims this MCU family delivers the industry’s first implementation of topology discovery enabled on a wired MCU with 10BASE-T1S Ethernet digital PHY, secured by post-quantum cryptography (PQC).
EE Times' executive editor, Nitin Dahad, was at the event to talk and spoke to Justin Mortimer, senior director, product marketing, for secure connected edge products, and find out more and why this is so significant in extending IP-based connectivity deeper into industrial systems. It is supposed to help connect more sensors, actuators and controllers and make theme more visible on the network. That's because they utilize topology discovery, which automatically identifies and maps connected devices.
