At least 47 people have been killed in an earthquake in Indonesia.

The powerful 7.7 magnitude quake has been followed by dozens of after shocks.

The quake struck the island of Flores at around five o'clock in the morning local time.

The EU has offered help from the bloc's Copernicus Earth observation satellites to support search and rescue efforts.
