A member of the group tasked with overhauling the Leaving Certificate maths courses has warned the draft changes could do a "disservice to our young people".
Dr Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin, who is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education at DCU, said the draft curricula were littered with mathematical errors and inaccuracies; would not give students a flavour of how enjoyable the subject could be; and would not prepare them for further study.
