Germany is the best BSW map for 5P games in my view, since it's really hard to end the game before the Step 3 auction. This means that making money becomes a lot more important relative to early capacity, and you can see that in the results of this game!
Morph got off to a strong start money-wise, with 28 helping a lot in a weaker early market. He made a big jump into the expensive south to move the market, then had to settle for 16 as his next plant. Meanwhile i was stuck with smaller plants and had to run 19 for a pretty long time - not too bad until you see that 24 was also in use for much of that time!
Nonetheless, i got myself into a great position after 20 at cost & a cheap 32...but Morph got a lifeline after Komo bid on 34. Reason being, BSW doesn't reshuffle the Step 3 plants if the Step 3 card is drawn during the auction phase; if you track the Step 3 plants in the order they went under the deck, you'll know exactly what comes next for the rest of that auction! In this case 36 was the next plant after 34, and Morph getting that plant at cost locked up the game for him. He would've been dead otherwise, since he couldn't reach 17 capacity on the following turn. As is, this was a comfortable win for him and a comfortable 2nd for me. O well~
