Story follows lyrics (told in 3 povs - Erik’s, Christine’s, and Raoul’s) – I know it was a lake, but for this vid, we'll pretend it's a river. ;-) - The river is different things to different people: To Erik, it’s a hideout and a place to meet secretly with his beloved – to Christine, it’s a place as mysterious as the man she has come to love – and to Raoul, it’s a place of danger and death. The river in this video is also symbolic of Erik and Christine's relationship – the river often signifying life, but having dangerous and unseen undercurrents – a place of pain as well as beauty, of hidden depths and secrets...
