The wait is finally over and the fifth chapter of the popular Poppy Playtime series has been released. In Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 we continue the story and find ourselves face to face with Huggy Wuggy again. We head deeper into the facility and meet various new mascots like Giblet, Lily Lovebraids and the long awaited reveal of The Prototype.
The game looks gorgeous and the story and lore elements are fantastic with some great moments and awesome twists and turns. I particularly adore how much love Huggy Wuggy gets in this chapter as previously he only appeared shortly in the first game. The animations are also very much improved and cutscenes including characters like Giblet are very high quality.
In terms of gameplay there are a lot of new mechanics including a pressure gove and a glove that lets you use various elements. Some of the puzzles early on do drag a bit too long for me and have you simply switch levers over and over again which I feel was a step back compared to the previous chapters. Highlights in terms of gameplay are the dollhouse where you get to explore an amazing environment and most of the chase sequences were great and epic. It definitely is a step up compared to chapter 4, but chapter 3 is still my personal favorite.
