The Gym in Aspertia City is just behind the Trainers' School. Once outside, Rosa is greeted by Clyde, the Gym assistant, who gives her a Fresh Water to commemorate her debut as a Gym Challenger. There are two Trainers ahead, and each of them appear to specialize in Normal-type Pokémon.




Youngster Pedro:
The first Trainer that Rosa must battle is a Youngster named Pedro. Will she be able to beat him and his fellow Trainer and reach the Gym Leader?

Patrat:
The Youngster's greeting card is the Scout Pokémon, Patrat. It knows Tackle, Leer, Bite, and Bide.

Lillipup:
The next Pokémon is Lillipup. It can use Tackle, Leer, Odor Sleuth, and Bite.

With one Trainer beaten, Rosa can now fight the next one.

Lass Serena:
The next Trainer is the last one that must be fought before the Gym Leader. Will she be a pushover compared to Pedro before her?

Lillipup:
The Lass starts her battles with Lillipup, the Puppy Pokémon. It is capable of using the same moves as the one used by Pedro.

Patrat:
This Trainer uses Patrat last, unlike Pedro. This Pokémon also knows the same moves as that one, too.
