This is not a serious deck, and coverage for it for this video is not complete. Rather, it was simply born out of me not having made any decks for some time during the Phantasmal Flames era, and I made it a few days before Ascended Heroes came out. Hence, besides the Boss’s Orders cards updated to have Corbeau from Pokémon Legends: Z-A, there are no Ascended Heroes cards in this deck. The deck has been updated after Ascended Heroes, but there aren’t any cards in that set that would help this deck.

I actually did not intend to showcase this deck, but I decided to just play one more match after using the Mega Eelektross ex deck, and I figured that if I won this one, I’d save it, and that is what happened. This is a slow but methodical deck featuring Wigglytuff ex as the main attacker. It’s loaded solely with Special Energy, and a lot of it, to activate its Ability, “Expanding Body,” which adds 100 HP to itself if it has any Special Energy attached, bringing it to 350 HP. With a Rigid Band attached, this is out of the range of most attacks in the format. (Or, as I have Brute Bonnet here, you can go for Binding Mochi for extra damage.) Its attack, Friend Tackle, does extra damage if you’ve played a Supporter this turn, so this deck has 21 Supporters, with certain functions I’d have for Item cards instead designated to Supporters instead, like Miriam instead of Sacred Ash and Brock’s Scouting in place of Nest Balls, Poké Pads, and Ultra Balls.
Notably, Special Energy current cannot be recovered once discarded, so there are 13 of them in all, covering 5 effects. Mist Energy block effects of attacks, preventing damage counters from being placed, status conditions from taking effect, and instant-KO effects like Mega Absol ex’s Terminal Period. Jet Energy replaces Switch (or Switch-like effects like Surfer). Spike Energy places extra damage counters (good against guys like Mega Dragonite ex and Mega Venusaur ex who have more than 370 HP), and while the effect of Therapeutic Energy overlaps with Mist Energy, it cures status conditions once attached and can be accelerated with Paldea Evolved Wigglytuff, the only Pokémon this format who can accelerate Special Energy to my knowledge. Enriching Energy is the ACE SPEC in this deck and can draw cards to help you find more Supporters or other needed cards.
Brute Bonnet is there not just to power up Wigglytuff ex with Binding Mochi or provide extra damage through Poison, (notably, Therapeutic Energy does NOT block Poison, only Sleep, Confusion, and Paralysis; it does not block Burn either). It’s also there to increase the Basic Pokémon count to not give the opponent so many cards at the beginning through mulligans. If given an Ancient Booster Energy Capsule, it reaches 180 HP, pretty nice to start with while you build up Wigglytuff ex on the Bench and, ideally, send it out to the front lines with Jet Energy later.
Cinccino is here for Special Roll. This was used in the Lugia VSTAR deck before it rotated out. It does 70 damage for each Special Energy card attached to it. Since it has only 110 HP and thus is likely going down in one hit, I like to put a Binding Mochi on it to increase damage by 40 if I can use Toxic Powder. With Therapeutic Energy accelerated onto it, it can burst onto the scene and do at least 180 damage, more if it’s charged further, and may be what is needed to take out higher-HP threats who can outlast Wigglytuff ex otherwise. Though Cinccino is a minor part of this deck and not always needed, having a 1-Prize attacker to knock out also requires my opponent knock out 4 Pokémon instead of 3 to slow them down further. This can sometimes spell the difference between a win and a loss.
If you’d like me to put up a more comprehensive, drawn-out match that shows the other things this deck does, please let me know.
