It turns out the rift above Mt. Coronet has gotten worse (1:02), which leads to Commander Kamado revealing his distrust of the player, banishing them from the village. However, we are still able to use the base camps to investigate the cause of this calamity. Once we arrive at the Obsidian Fieldlands, we seek out Lian for info on what to do (13:18), then seek out Mai (17:50). With both not being of much help due to their clans being forced to stay neutral, Volo finds us and takes us to a Secret Retreat (18:45), the home of Cogita. She has knowledge about Hisui’s myths and legends, and mentions a way for us to fix what is going on. We need to seek out the Lake Guardians to form the Red Chain, which should help bind the world together.

Only one of the leaders of the clans can help us out, so I choose Adaman (this choice determines whether you obtain Dialga or Palkia first). I first head over to Lake Verity (32:33) and enter the cave there (35:29), where I need to face a Hisuian Goodra (37:32). With its defeat, I encounter Mesprit and obtain (41:25) its Plume after answering its questions. I head back to the Secret Retreat (44:38) before heading to Lake Acuity (47:46) where I face a Hisuian Zoroark (50:11) before I encounter Uxie (52:38), properly answering its question (54:09). With its Claw, I head back to the retreat to find out what’s going on in Jubilife (56:23) before heading to Lake Valor (58:46), take on Overqwil (1:00:19) and encounter Azelf (1:02:14), where I have to keep on throwing Marsh Balms at it until it recognizes my will, giving me its Fang. With all piece obtained, we are taken to the Shrouded Ruins (1:05:25) where the Lake Trio forms the Red Chain. I head back to Jubilife Village to tell them my plan (1:08:03), but it seems Kamado has already taken off for Mt. Coronet, so we need to go after him. Before that, I trade with my other Switch so I could easily evolve my Graveler and Haunter into Golem and Gengar and see the new trading animation as well (1:14:20). With that, we head on up to the newly created Summit Camp (1:21:02)

On the way through the Stone Portal, I battle Beni (1:32:19) before battling Kamado near the peak of Mt. Coronet (1:39:52). With him defeated, he apologized for his rash actions and allows us to use the Red Chain (1:48:57), where I battle and catch Dialga pretty easily with an Ultra Ball. After catching it, Palkia also appears (1:53:55), so the group escapes back to the Summit Camp to talk about the plan going forward (1:55:26). We find the Origin Ore needed (2:06:41) to catch Palkia, but I need to battle Bandit Charm (2:08:20) to get access to it, and leave the Professor to create the Origin Ball (2:15:18). With it and Dialga in my team, I head back to the Temple and challenge Palkia (2:25:01) in its Origin Forme. After defeating it in one try, I am able to catch it, reaching the end of the main story (2:27:45) where the credits play (2:31:11). Afterward, the postgame begins with a message from Arceus where we still need to seek out all Pokémon (2:35:10). I head out and talk to Cyllene and Volo (2:37:57) about researching Hisuian history and legends, then obtain the other two started from Professor Laventon (2:39:00) before saving.
