Plant-based Middle Eastern options are plenty in Vancouver, BC, but what are the options downtown? In this episode of Vegan Twosome, we visit Haifa, a modern Middle Eastern restaurant that's not fully vegan or vegetarian—but definitely vegan friendly. The location is convenient if you’re looking for a meal near BC Place, Rogers Arena, or Queen Elizabeth Theatre. We used our Plant Curious deal to try their loaded eggplant, one of several dishes on the menu that are already vegan or can be made vegan.
Haifa also offers a vegan tasting menu, so there's lots to explore here if you're looking for a more curated dining experience. The space is bright and open, with a lively atmosphere, and we found the service to be super friendly and helpful. Pro tip: making a reservation online is a good idea—it gets busy!
In addition to the loaded eggplant, we ordered hummus, pita, falafel and a vegan version of their karaage. They also have a drink menu with some tasty options if you're pairing your meal with a cocktail or mocktail.
