Having dim sum in Taiwan as a vegan means you will have everyone recommending Yang Shin Vegetarian as a must visit. Reservations are a must if you plan on dining there, so get on those reservations quickly! They have an English menu where items with egg and dairy are clearly marked and when the staff heard us speaking to each other in English, they had an English-speaking server come take our order. Aside from dim sum, they have larger dishes on their menu that you can order and they also have a set menu available, it we wanted to try as many dim sum dishes as possible for the episode. We had the xiao long bao, shao mai, spring rolls, sticky rice, king oyster mushroom kebab, radish cocoon pastry, pearl balls and the deep fried basil and vegan pork wrapped in bean curd. We finished it all and most items come with three pieces. It’s not cheap, but on a weekday at lunch, the place was packed upon opening at 11:30AM, so Yang Shin seems like the place to be for vegetarian dim in Taipei!
