Pinocchio in Outer Space (1965)
Pinocchio in Outer Space takes Carlo Collodi’s beloved wooden boy far beyond the workshop and straight onto a rocketship! Produced at Belvision Studios by Ray Goossens, with American involvement from Norm Prescott (Filmation) and Fred Ladd, this film became Universal Pictures’ second animated feature release in the U.S.
The film does not have a talking Cricket but it does have, Nurtle, an alien “Twertle” sidekick and the Villain is Astro, a massive intergalactic whale bent on revenge after being abducted by mysterious Martians.
Considered The Most Insufferable Childerns Movie Ever Made, the film is available on VHS and it had a small release on DVD in 2003, but some streaming services like YouTube have the entire film for free.
