1980's Filmation Tarzan Lone Ranger Zorro Adventure Hour
The Tarzan/Lone Ranger Adventure Hour is an animated television series produced by Filmation that aired on CBS during the early 1980s.
The series consisted of reruns of Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle paired with new episodes of Filmation's versions of The Lone Ranger and, in the second season, The New Adventures of Zorro—at which point the series was retitled The Tarzan/Lone Ranger/Zorro Adventure Hour. The series ran from 1980 to 1982.
The series had 28 episodes with two seasons and were released on DVD BCI Eclipse's brand. However BCI Eclipse's bankruptcy has put the show out of print. Some episodes are available on YouTube.
Trivia:
Filmation approached TV's original Lone Ranger and Tonto, Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels to reprise their characters for the animated series, but Moore felt he could not perform without a proper amount of rehearsals, even though producer Lou Scheimer assured him that he did not need to learn any lines and would be reading his script in his hand during recordings.
William Conrad agreed to voice the Lone Ranger, but since there was still a stigma attached to doing cartoon work, wanted to be billed under the pseudonym "J. Darnoc", which is his last name backwards.
Alan Oppenheimer and Frank Welker did some voices on about 10 episodes.
