Grassdigger | Pikmin 2 Glitch: More Ways for Pikmin to Disappear @grassdigger8695 | Uploaded May 2017 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
This is a continuation of my previous video about Pikmin disappearances: youtube.com/watch?v=2G0Wk5LdIPU
Some of the things shown in this video were already documented, such as:
Pikmin disappearing when being eaten aboveground: youtube.com/watch?v=cwNLhjO7Gdg
False hazard deaths: youtube.com/watch?v=7mu5dfuqa4k
However, I show a couple more ways for Pikmin to disappear. Namely, if a Pikmin is grabbed by a snitchbug or crushed, then escaping the cave in the right period of time will cause them to disappear. I assume that entering a cave will have the same effect.
But if a Pikmin is plucked, then it will not disappear.
It seems that Pikmin have to make the sound of being eaten in order for them to disappear, as this sound is also heard when Pikmin are thrown into candypop buds or grabbed by snitchbugs. The outlier is when Pikmin are being crushed, which also works.
I also show experiments with false hazard deaths for a little bit. It only seems to work when delving deeper or using a geyser after they make the sound of dying
I've been busy doing other things, so day 7 of my Onionless challenge is still pretty far off from completion.
