Grassdigger | Pikmin 2 Glitch: Blue Pikmin are Often More Likely to Die @grassdigger8695 | Uploaded August 2017 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Most games put entities into object slots, and when the game does calculations during a frame, each entity is managed one at a time in the order provided in the object slots. Since bulborbs can only eat so many Pikmin at once, the Pikmin that end up eaten are often those with an earlier position in the object slots.
Pikmin who are called into the field seem to be put into the earliest object slots. Thus, if I call out a type of Pikmin first, those Pikmin are more prone to be eaten.
However, Pikmin are often loaded into the game at once when caving or exiting a cave. I demonstrate what happens with the object slots when this occurs toward the end of the video. Certain Pikmin are still given priority in the object slots, and the order goes like this:
-blues
-reds
-yellows
-purples
-whites
Thus, if you've felt like you kill blue Pikmin more than any other Pikmin, there is a reason behind this!
