Pikes Peak, elevation 14,115ft, is located near the town of Manitou Springs, Colorado. I climbed Pikes Peak solo from Crags campground in May 2022, which was an 18 miles, 5,000ft all-day slog (I took a wrong turn and added a few extra miles). On this occasion, my wife and I started from Devils Playground at about 13,000ft, and had a much easier time reaching the summit. Also unlike two year ago it was nearly windless on the summit, making it a much more enjoyable day on this famous mountain. Total hiking stats: 6 miles with 1300ft elevation gain
