We show how we cooked these Picanha steaks from Costco and sear the fat in the Forever Pan. If you love good steak, keep watching!
• Started with a nice Picanha from Costco and sliced into steaks.
• Trimmed some fat and kept a nice ¼” layer of fat cap.
• Seasoned with Salt only for about 3 hours in advance.
• Was shooting for a grill temp of 250F degrees using the Slow ‘N Sear attachment and cooking them indirectly.
• Once it got close to 70F degrees on the Meater+, we checked it to see how it looked.
• When it got to about 100F we pulled them off.
• Set up the Forever pan directly over the heat to sear the fat and then once the fat looked good, we seared directly over the fire.
• Let them rest and enjoyed!
Summary: The Slow ‘N Sear Travel Kettle is very impressive. These choice picanha steaks from Costco were extremely tender and juicy! Only thing I would change is possibly searing them in the pan the entire time!
