This controller was inspired by the Vienna Wireless Societies Makers Group SDR Receiver Project.

I have been homebrewing SDR Project for many years and a key piece was a Board from a group in the UK associated with QRP2000 a Transceiver project. They are no longer supply the key interface board that fits between the software and control of a Si570 which creates the LO at 4X. This signal is then run through a 74AC74 Dual D Type Flip Flop to create two quadrature LO's at 1X. The price of a Si570 has gone through the Roof.

The VWS Pi Pico was envisioned as a substitute for the UK board and uses the Si5153. I have been successful in getting it to work on receive with the Minimalist Homebrew SDR Transceiver (MHST). See the N6QW Blog for more details on the build.

Right now, it is working on receive and a bit more development work is required to make it work on transmit.
