I'm blocked up. I need to take a plunger to myself. Want to watch?
I've been stuck on a kind of photographer's block recently. I've been heading out with my camera and just finding nothing that I want to take a photo of. I've even started filming vids for the channel, and just come up blank. Given up after half an hour and gone home again, feeling pretty fed up.
So, what's the answer? Sadly, I don't know. But I have spent a lot of time considering the problem. And I have come to at least one conclusion, for me at least. This may not be the same for you.
For me, what I think was happening is that I had got lazy. I had started to just head out into the world with a camera and expect things to happen. And then I was surprised and all dejected when it didn't.
So here's the big revelation - I need to stop being lazy. I need to put more effort into the planning of my photography, put more into the thought process that leads me to heading out with my camera, don't expect it all to fall into my lap.
So there we are. Blockage cleared? For now perhaps. I have exciting plans in my newly free-flowing pipeline. So that's good at least.
