Viking themed shoot in a forest (with a bit of deep chat at the end!), on the Toyo Monorail 4x5, with my Nikkor 210mm f5.6 and my hard-to-identify Dallmeyer 8.5 inch f4.5! Mostly FP4+ with a couple of frames of Ektar.
This shoot has been in the planning for a few months now, there were a lot of elements to bring together. I wanted to do a character shoot and my good from Tom and I have been talking about doing something Viking related with him, as he claims to be descended from Vikings... he does look a bit like one. But that could just be the beard
Now, if you've ever tried to get a Viking costume, or any period costume for that matter, you'll know that there are two types of costume available - super cheap, predominantly plastic costumes off Amazon aimed at the Halloween market, and ultra expensive costumes made from proper materials, built to last, aimed probably at the cosplay or theatre industry.
I didn't want either of these. I wanted cheap but not crap. Doesn't exist. So I made the costume. Took me ages....
Anyway, Tom came along, dressed up, gave it his all, can't thank him enough, and I am pretty happy with the results!
