Fukugawa Falls is a natural attraction in the Northern regions of the Japanese Island of Okinawa. Located in the jungles just a short drive North of the town of Nago it requires about a ten to 15minute hike into the dense green forests known as the Yanbaru. Pay attention on the walk in as this is very much the realm of the Habu Pit Vipers that are found on the island, any one of the three of which if it bites could ruin your day!
This short video shows simply how I go about creating long exposure imagery of the water features to accomplish that silky liquid effect that landscape photographers so often use. You will need tour lens of choice and two filters. Firstly a circular polariser to help eliminate any glare from the wet rocks and also an ND filter preferably with a minimum density of 64 that corresponds to a six stop filter. This way even if I was shooting in bright sunlight I should be able to attain the minimum shutter of 1second to start getting pleasing results.
