The Xiaomi Mi A1 AKA Xiaomi Mi 5X is a competent shooter in the day, but you take lots of photos and this will be your main camera it is worth spending the extra on a higher end smartphone.
I'm quite fond of how the photos in sunny and bright conditions turn out. There is lots of detail and the colour balance is good. You can tweak the contrast and sharpness to your personal preference. Unfortuantely in low light, the lack of stabilization is very apparent and also photos get very grainy. The secondary lens (by default) is disabled in low light (and if you force it you'll see why...)
Lots of sample photos here and me talking about what I like about them. Note that all the photos have been cropped from 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9 - otherwise no editing was done to them unless otherwise mentioned.
