Today I'm thrilled to share my very first shoot with Canon's new full frame mirrorless camera, the Canon R5! (https://lindsayadler.photo/r5)

I typically can glean inspiration from just about anywhere but one of my favorite places to the Burlesque era since it's filled with stunning hair and makeup, majestic and fantastic wardrobes and beautiful lighting!

So for this photo shoot I wanted to give do my spin on this classic style.

I did a lot of planning for this shoot and worked with an actual Burlesque producer so I kept things relatively accurate.

Lighting:

The lighting was really simple for this shoot, it was just a single beauty dish with a grid. This gave that dramatic lighting with just barely illuminating the red velvet curtains used as a backdrop.

Camera settings:

I was using the Canon's first full frame mirrorless, the EOS R5 with a 24-105mm lens at 1/200th of a second, F/8.0 and iso 100.

The Canon R5 was fantastic for this shoot as I got the comfort of using the Canon 5D IV with the benefits of a mirrorless camera, such as face and eye tracking, 45 megapixels and the amazing color the camera captures!

Post Processing:

Retouching and post processing were pretty simple. I was very happy straight out of camera and made some little changes here. I lightened up the bottom of the frame and her legs a bit since the grid on the beauty dish made them darker. I liquified some of the feathers to even them out and elongated the curtains to make them reach the floor.

πŸ‘‡ So what do you think? Did I nail it? Is this a style that you'd be interested in experimenting with? Let me know in the comments!
