Coron is one of the very top places to be visited in the Philippines. Many think that there are only these beautiful rock formations, the lakes and the lagoons, but there is actually more. Have you ever heard of Sangat island. Itâs a lonely island just nearby Coron Town. Sangat is serene, relaxing and a tropical paradise. The Tao Sangat resort is the best place we have stayed at in the Philippines (no paid content). Tao Sangat belongs to a diverâs network between Palawan and Coron. Most of the people come to Tao Sangat for scuba diving. Apparently, Coron is a magnet for shipwreck diving. There are many, many Japanese shipwrecks that sunk during world war too, thus there is a lot to be discovered also underwater. Tao Sangat is an eco-resort, very environmentally friendly and just purely relaxing. Here you will definitely have real holidays. The island has a wonderful beach, nice huts and this unique rock bar at where the guests will go for cocktails near sunset. Sangat island marks a stark contrast to the very popular and meanwhile crowded Coron island. It is far from being busy, in fact nearly lonely. Here you can just relax and once in a while go for some scuba diving at the wrecks. Allow yourself being spoiled by a hip twist of Filipino cuisine and a great service like massage. Sangat island is for those travelers who love to take it easy and or are into scuba diving. Wine Terraces? That already must sound fancy and remind you of Asian rice terraces! Well, if Asia is too far, then probably a trip to South Western Switzerland might be more convenient! The Lavaux are a landscape created by local men, which was recognized as UNESCO World Heritage! Over few tens of Kilometres you will pass by many vineyards and mediterranean-like villages. With Saint-Saphorin and Epesses, this region hosts two of Switzerlands prettiest villages!
While Sain-Saphorin is located right at the bottom of the Lavaux it is just at the coast of world-famous Lake Geneva! This unique location, as well as the nice old houses make Saint-Saphorin to one most beautiful villages of Switzerland. A bit higher up in the middle of the Lavaux is Epesses, from where you nicely can oversee Lake Geneva. Epesses is a bit calmer than Saint-Saphorin, as there is no major traffic road. From Epesses, you can take many trails through the vineyards of the Lavaux and have some fantastic hikes. There are also a couple of wine cellars that you can visit. All in all, this area is one of the moste unique landscapes of all Switzerland!

Winter in Switzerland is a great season, as there are plenty of great things to do! Especially up in the Swiss Alps, there will be a lot of snow. There will be no greens during Winter and thus, the activities during the white season will very much differ from Summer. Winter is the season for skiing, Christmas, sledding, carnival and snow in general. Having travelled across the country during this season, I present you the Top 10 attractions of Switzerland during Winter.
Up in the Swiss Alps, there are many beautiful villages that appear specially nice during Winter. For example Grimentz is very much worth to visit during this time. Just nearby, there is the Zinal Glacier that looks very fascinating with its natural ice cave. You will need to go for a two hoursâ winter hike to reach the glacier. December marks the beginning of Winter and also of Christmas season. Visit the many Christmas markets all around the country, in the larger cities or in the villages. During this month, many towns transform into charming Winter wonderland. Sledding is another great and fun activity to go for during Winter. Great toboggan runs (tracks) are up in Andermatt at the NĂ€tschen or at BergĂŒn. Feel the thrill of the speed while going downhill. Great views you can get at the Grindelwald First, you will see the many peaks of the Swiss Alps and also can go for skiing. Very enjoyable is the cliff walk at the Grindelwald First that takes you around a massive rock. Also consider visiting the village of Grindelwald itself. Zermatt is a very highlight of Winter up in the Swiss Alps. During this season, you will often get unobstructed views to the Matterhorn, the landmark of Switzerland. There are various places from where you can get a brilliant view over the Matterhorn: At Zermatt village itself, Sunegga, Blauherd, the Rothorn or the Gornergrat. All in all, so many great things to do during Winter in Switzerland.

Switzerland is full of beautiful cities! They are urban, vibrant and very happening. Although Switzerland is a small country, the diversity among the cities is very noticeable. The architecture, the art and the culture differ a lot from city to city. You will find the cities of Switzerland by the river, lake or even in the valleys. Each city has its unique appearance as well as its hotspots and attractions of where to go to.
Sion is the capital of the very touristy canton of Valais (Wallis). Interestingly, Sion is only little known but ranks easily among the most beautiful cities of Switzerland. Sion feels like being in Italy but is a French-speaking city. Sion is vibrant, full of street art and also a foodie hub. The most remarkable however are the two castles up on the hills. Lugano is the largest city of Ticino in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Lugano lays by the lake, surrounded by the Swiss Alps, and one can feel that Italy is quite near. Lugano charms with its many alleys, culture, lake promenade and its view points. The best view over the surrounding and the city of Lugano you can get at the Monte BrĂš or Monte San Salvatore. Basel is the hub for the pharmaceutical industry. Basel is an old city and full of culture. Itâs important to explore the many alleys with their colorful houses, see the red city hall, the minster and cross the bridges. Basel has a strong connection to its traditions. Important to mention here are the Vogelgryff and the Morgestraich. Bern is the federal city (capital) of Switzerland and the only town that is considered UNESCO world heritage. Very typical for Bern are the many arcades and the fountains. Bernâs old city is really a highlight, thus make sure to spend here at least half a day. NeuchĂątel is in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, a town that feels Mediterranean and sort of French/Italian. The highlight of NeuchĂątel are the lake promenade, the graffiti alley and the collegiate church with the castle. Schaffhausen is probably the largest and best preserved old city in Switzerland. Schaffhausenâs old town charms with its colorful houses and oriel windows (balcony windows). Schaffhausen is easy to explore by walk itâs pretty much car-free. The best things to do in and around Schaffhausen are a visit to the Museum zu Allerheiligen, walking at the Vordergasse alley, going up to the Munot and seeing the nearby Rhinefalls. The Munot is a centre for culture and hosts various events. Zurich is the largest city in all of Switzerland. Itâs the hub for innovation and business but at the same time is a very touristy destination. Zurichâs old city concentrates around the Limmat quay. Walk along the river Limmat, enter the many protestant churches or head up to the Lindenhof and Polyterrase to enjoy a great vista over the old city of Zurich. Zurich is modern but also very cultural; the major event being the SechselĂ€uten festival. Fribourg is a city on two levels. The old city of perfectly preserved and thus great to explore. Ascend the church tower of the St. Nicolas cathedral or the Loretta chapel to enjoy a brilliant vista. Fribourg city has also some similarities with Luxemburg. Solothurn is the most beautiful baroque city of Switzerland. The old town is full of beautiful houses and concentrates around the river Aare. The major landmark is the St. Urseren Cathedral that offers you a great view from its tower. Lucerne is no doubt the most beautiful of the Top 10 Swiss Cities. Lucerne has been a favorite for many tourists since it offers so many great things such as a charming river promenade along the Reuss, a great view over Lake Lucerne (VierwaldstĂ€ttersee) and the Swiss Alps and otherwise seems very inviting with its alleys and painted houses. Lucerneâs best attractions are the Jesuitenkirche, Gletschergarten museum and many more. Explore Lucerne on the water by taking a boat ride or head up to Mount Pilatus to get a perfect vista over the Swiss Alps and this old city.
