Once you've been in the Tailoring / Alterations business long enough you can offer a discount for those who are willing to wait up to 30 days to get a good discount on their alterations. I get a lot of blind hem pants in that have the hem seam ripped out. You ladies know what I am talking about. These are almost 100% professionals (many more women than men) and often times a client will bring 2 to 4 pair in at once. I offer them a 50% discount if they can wait up to 30 days (often it is only 15). This allows me to sit down and do batches of hems. Obviously, you need enough business to offer this service for it to be beneficial to you and your clients.
