This was one of those days where I finally stopped stepping over the problem and decided to face it head-on. The pantry had reached that chaotic, post-winter tipping point, where jars were stacked in odd places and I couldn’t quite remember what I had or what I needed. So I spent the day sorting, stacking, counting, and thinking—because spring is coming, and the garden planning can’t wait. I took stock of what we actually eat now that it’s just Todd and me most days, and what we still have plenty of from the last few seasons. I found more green beans than we could possibly eat, but only a couple jars of pickles left. Potatoes didn’t store well, jalapeños are nearly gone, and somehow I still have enough tomato soup to feed a small village. It wasn’t just a cleaning day—it was a quiet moment of reflection, planning, and a little mental reset.
