I do feel a little silly to have made a big deal out of doing something new and then immediately hitting the ground running with a Games Workshop miniature, but that's what's caught my eye at the moment - Necromunda on the horizon means my brain's deep in the underhive! That said, the OPR Grimdark Future Firefight and campaign compendium make for compelling, easy to pick up games as well. The bolt-on elements of the rules and campaign mean you can get as granular as you like with the system, which is nice, and the core of GFF literally is free to try, with all the army lists available direct from OPR themselves.

THE BASE: Layer of PVA followed by sand, painted first with Flat Brown, heavily overbrushed Brown Sand, lightly drybrushed Dark Sand. Add dots of PVA and static grass, then tufts of your choice - these orange meadow tufts came from Green Stuff World. While drybrushing the base, once most of the paint is rubbed off your brush, lightly stipple at legs and greatcoat to add a bit of dust to the uniform.

Some of the first professional soldiers, sergeants were ordinarily non-nobles who performed a lot of the skilled work necessary to support an army. Mounted sergeants often served in a light cavalry role, skirmishing and reporting on enemy movements, while foot sergeants tended to be better armed, equipped, and trained than the peasants drafted into their lords service as levies.

Interestingly enough, this isnt the first time Ive tackled zombies on the channel. What makes it different this time is that ordinarily those zombies arent in uniform! The Totenkorps would be a colossal tar pit and overwhelming threat to Allied morale in the winter of 1947, helping the Axis forces to stem the tide of an Allied invasion into the German heartland. Fearless, tireless, and inured to pain, the shambling hordes of the Totenkorps seemed at first a perfect weapon... but even the dead are not truly limitless, and before long the Allies would find ways to counter even the horror of their own dead turned against them. Nonetheless, Totenkorps remain a powerful asset to an Axis commander in Konflikt 47 - your opponent will need to figure out how to either obliterate or contain this implacable threat!

Hopefully this time Ill drop a video on mixing up your own Marine Juice and I wont find out in the next three days that one of the ingredients is being changed or discontinued!
When youve a need for deep, but relatively subtle shading that wont stain the colours on a miniature too much, its Marine Juice to the rescue. An (almost) universal wash mixture thatll work brilliantly over almost anything but pure black, it serves as the juice to a whole mess of my speed painting methods and Im sure youll find a use for it, too.

The Churchill was like most British tanks in service throughout WWII: Always just a little undergunned compared to the opponents it would square off against. Luckily, it was built like a mobile fortress, enabling allied anti-armour assets to maneuver into position to knock out heavier targets - including the feared German big cats!

The Tallarn Desert Raiders are still one of those alternate regiments that capture peoples imaginations in Warhammer 40,000 - even if they dont officially have rules any more. Or you play 5th Edition like a hero...!
Of course, the Reptilian Overlords miniatures dont necessarily need to be strictly for 40k; Xenos Rampant, Five Parsecs from Home, Grimdark Future and others are all miniature agnostic, meaning you can play with whatever toy soldiers you like.
Today was mostly about testing out the new camera. Theres a couple of minor focusing issues to fix yet, but I think the body of the videos pretty good!
