The first boss battle of the game! At the end of Paradise Meadows, Pac-Man encounters Clyde, the orange ghost. He is seen playing with the Golden Cherry. When Pac-Man asks for it back, Clyde refuses, before summoning a large mechanical frog to ride on and battle him for it!
Clyde's Killer Frog:
The Ghost Gang now follows the orders of Spooky, who was recently freed from the Golden Fruit Tree, and have scattered with the fruits to areas full of danger. Clyde has the Golden Cherry and summons a Killer Frog mecha to battle Pac-Man when he arrives. Much like a real frog, it can jump high. This amphibian-esque robot also has a long, wooden tongue, which it uses to swing at Pac-Man in a half-circle sweep, and can also be used as a trap to chew him up. However, with lots of exploding barrel enemies wandering around, the tongue can also lop them up, giving Pac-Man an opening to attack it with a Butt-Bounce! After damaging the tongue three times, Clyde is forced to take drastic measures...! He feeds the Golden Cherry to the Killer Frog, turning its body gold, which turns the end of its tongue into a spiked ball! In addition, its high jumps also create shockwaves as it lands! With this newly reinforced defensive measure, Pac-Man must find another weak spot... in the form of a core in the mecha's mouth! When Clyde has the Killer Frog slam its tongue down onto the ground, it's a cue for Pac-Man to hop onto its tongue and strike this core with a Rev Roll! Doing this three times brings the battle to its end, allowing for our hero to retrieve the Golden Cherry.
