This FLOW-3D HYDRO model uses oxygen dissolution physics to simulate the dissolved oxygen concentration in a "racetrack" oxidation ditch at a wastewater treatment plant. Aerators are used to circulate the flow and introduce air into the sludge mixture. FLOW-3D HYDRO can be used to optimize the performance of an oxidation ditch across a variety of operating conditions.
