A uniform mixture of water and small oil droplets enters an oil/water separator. The Dynamic Droplet Model captures the coalescence of oil into larger droplets downstream of the energy dissipation plate. As droplets grow, their increased buoyancy resists re-entrainment into the flowing water, allowing the oil to rise and flow over the weir into the collection pipe.
