While the Great 8 was a little past his days when he would look to obliterate Lindgren the next time they were on the ice together, he knew how to get payback in an even better way. With under seven minutes left in regulation, Ovechkin beat Lindgren to a rebound in front of the Rangers' net to tie the game. Just a few shifts later, Ovechkin out-positioned Lindgren again for another rebound puck to put home a nearly identical goal to give the Caps the 2-1 lead they would hold onto for the victory. Ovechkin's 720th career goal would end up his 115th game-winner, putting him just three behind Phil Esposito for 3rd all-time. It also marked the 6th time in his career that he scored every Capitals goal in a regulation or overtime win.
