#OutlawKing was the last film I saw at the Toronto International Film Festival a couple of months ago, and my first Netflix review! I couldn't wait to see #ChrisPine as Robert the Bruce in a David versus Goliath battle against the tyrannical King Edward. This is a fantastic story, but one that you may recognize, as it has been told already on film... in Braveheart.
However, this Bruce story is told by native Scot David Mackenzie who directed Pine in the brilliant Hell or Highwater. So what would Mackenzie and Pine bring to their version of the story?
Considering the version I saw at TIFF has reportedly been edited down quite a bit following that festival, I can tell you in my #OutlawKingMovieReview, that you may actually get a much different experience than I had if you choose to watch this movie on #Netflix.
