I've sold 105 photography zines! Look below to see my big news. And I also did a fake swimming pool photo session with Monet … without a swimming pool. What? A taped up tarp from Lowe's a wonderful model and an awesome assistant helped me pull together something from next to nothing. Using a Fuji GFX 50s and a Godox SL-150W (among a few other Lowell hot lights), we managed to make something interesting. It didn't come out exactly how I'd hoped, but there's value in that! Let me know what you think. Also, watch me edit a photograph from the session in Capture One Pro and Adobe Photoshop.
I used the artificial lighting to offset the midday lighting and fill the shadow. The effect softened the dappled lighting on her face to create a natural effect. I essentially made the trees giant cucoloris! Photography in open shade can be beautiful, and combining daylight with artificial light can create stunning results.

I've already made a second printing of my first photography zine, "Loneliest Colors," and I'm hard at work on my next photo zine, too.
