It was a beautiful day at Tryon Creek State Natural Area , but sadly someone called the cops on us. We were glad #Thanos had the #SpaceStone and we able to pop out of there. Luckily, I avoided using the word "snap," since half of a half would suck even more.
Technically this was done with Google #ARCore and with a converted Thanos character from Epic Games Fortnite Battle Royale re-rigged, textured, and imported into @Unity using couple of custom shader combinations. It was installed on a #Pixel2XL and recorded at 720P using AZ Screen and edited with InShot.
Things to possibly do in the future:
Create an app that allows equirectangular to be taken at any location and used to create a cube-map to be used for dynamic GL & Reflections as well as determine brightest location for position/intensity of a dynamic spotlight.
Use a depth sensor and Tango like APK to map out simple depth information for occlusion, allowing for variable distance masks to be created for real-world object to be behind and in front of the digital asset.
Finally a a phone based gyro stabilizer to provide smooth movement and you would have one hell of a portable/mobile FX scene generator.
