The Charismatic Church has gone totally off the rails—and in this video, we examine some of the most shocking teachings coming from Pastor Otha Turnbough of Lionheart Church and his spiritual daughter. We’ll react to claims that Christians who refuse to tithe could go to hell, as well as Turnbough’s controversial teaching that Jesus was “molested in hell,” was “born again” there, and died spiritually. We’ll compare these claims with Scripture and examine how Turnbough’s theological roots connect back to Kenneth Copeland and the broader Word of Faith movement.
This isn’t an argument for abandoning the gifts or power of the Holy Spirit. It’s a call for biblical reformation within the Charismatic Church. We need a Word and Spirit church—one grounded in sound doctrine and Scripture while still believing in the authentic work, gifts, and power of the Holy Spirit. As theological error, Word of Faith excesses, hyper-prophetic teaching, and New Apostolic Reformation influences continue to spread, Christians must learn to test every teaching against the Word of God and refuse to go beyond what is written.
