Forest School is where young orangutans learn how to be orangutans. After being rescued, many have missed out on crucial lessons they would normally learn from their mothers. In Forest School, they spend their days in a protected natural forest environment, climbing trees, building nests, learning what to eat, strengthening their muscles, and developing the confidence they will need to survive independently one day.
It might look like play, and a lot of it is, but every moment is building the skills they need for life in the wild.
