This cover was done as a part of the first ever chapter of the 8-Bit Battleground event! It's a monthly contest between me and 7 other VGM cover artists where we all cover the same song, have people vote which version is their favourite, and then the winner gets to decide the next song that we do! This idea was pitched to all of us by BadHairlineProductions, so special thanks to him for bringing us all together!
For this month, we're doing Introduction (aka Opening Selection) from the 4th generation of Pokemon games. I never played these games myself, but these games were suggested as a good starting point, since the games are trending due to the remakes being announced recently.
Once all 8 videos are up, the voting will open! Links to the voting page, as well as a playlist consisting of each cover, will be posted here as well as in the comments.

Welcome to my first collaborative effort! A HUGE thanks to Animalisa Keys for providing her piano talents to this song. I dont think it would really be the same without it. Arranging a piano part was definitely an interesting challenge for me, not to mention mixing it. This also marks the first time that I didnt use any distorted rhythm guitars. Normally I cant resist the urge to make things heavy by the end, but I think this one actually turned out for the better as a result.

I am so excited for people to hear and see this one! This is easily one of my favourite video game songs all of time, probably even song in general. So far Ive mostly done songs that loop so I come up with ways to make each repetition unique, but in this case, its already a full song, so I didnt really have to do anything to the structure of the song (except for an extra 8 bars I added when it enters the faster part). I tried to capture the feeling of the original song as best I could, while putting my own stamp on it so to speak, mostly because I only use guitars and dont own violas and violins and flutes lol. Im super happy with how this turned out so hopefully you enjoy it too!
