In this video we're going to look at the influence of the extra piece of wire added to the transformer coil to tune the resonant frequency to the source frequency (in previous video the high voltage source).
We can see that by adding the wire we indeed lower the resonant frequency and thus we can tune by adding extra wire. It was strange to see that all though the voltage on high voltage coil of transformer is lower when we compare with and without the added tuning wire, while on the low voltage side the output voltage was the same.
We also see that we loose much of the voltage for if I use a single layer coil I could even have higher voltage then input voltage. Sadly I'm not able to create KV signal of 2.4Mhz at the moment.
Allthough I only add 1m of wire, resonant frequency goes down with few Khz which is not in relation with the wave length difference, so at the moment I believe it's wrong to pin myself to calculated wire lengths only looking at wavelength of signal.
If we take 34Khz then wavelength is 8.817Km or 1/4 = 2.2Km
If we take 32Khz then wavelength is 9.368Km or 1/4 = 2.34Km
So the difference is 140m while I only added 1m external wire to the coil to tune it.
