!!!! Only experiment with shortcutting capacitor if you know how to handle !!!!
This setup is only 10µF charged to 60V and I use leather gloves.
Creating shortcut on same capacitor with higher voltage can be really dangerous.
There can be a lot of energy stored inside a capacitor eventhough it's for example 10µF but charged to 400V.
When we shortcut a charged capacitor that is connected to one side with Earth ground, we see current flowing in the Earth ground connection.

That was done by manually switching.
What helped to get bigger currents was also a plate on the capacitor:

Creating the shortcut with thick copper bar also helped.
