I entered the Leeds 10km as people from work were running it and it's so close to home it felt rude not to!
I'm not in PB shape so decided I'd be happy with anything sub 60 minutes. When I saw boss of Northern Pacing Volunteers, Nick, was pacing 60 minutes with his lovely wife Emma then I decided I'd make it a sociable one. That lasted about 2km before I got excited and ran away from them (sorry guys!). There were so many people supporting that I knew, which meant I had the most lovely time, and felt very lucky as there weren't LOADS of people lining the streets so to know those that were there felt pretty special.
The weather was perfect and 10km is a great distance for me at the moment. I still have my marathon fitness so this is a distance that doesn't require loads of effort to get round and delivered ALL of the enjoyment! This race definitely helped boost my running mojo which I've been a bit short of recently.
If you have any recommendations of great races, not too far from Leeds, that I should enter then please do pop it in the comments. I'd love to know :)
