650 parkruns! First things first... It's not an official milestone! But to me it's a thing. A thing to celebrate! Because otherwise the journey to the 1000 club will be a bit long and boring... It's at least 10 years of running! I plan to celebrate every 50 parkruns along the way because I believe life should have as many celebrations as possible.
I was so excited that parkrun sponsor Brooks were going to be at this event as it meant I got to run in a pair of brand new shoes! It was nice to check out the new Ghost Max from Brooks, even if I felt like my marathon legs couldn't get the most out of them. It was also wonderful that St. Gemma's Hospice were there doing their Virtual Santa Dash. It definitely added a festive element to the event and St. Gemma's are a very worth charity to raise money for!
I had such a lovely morning at Woodhouse Moor parkrun so huge thanks to those amazing humans that made it so great, especially RD Anne and her team of parkrun volunteers. We looked it up and I think I'm 61st in the world in terms of most parkruns run. If I recall rightly then I was 89th when I entered the 500 club so maybe one day I'll be in the Top 50! It's something to aim for, and there will be many memorable adventures along the way. It's so important to have things to look forward to, and parkrun tourism gives me that, so long may it continue!
