This is a new, almost useless kind of D Boost (https://okami.speedruns.wiki/D_Boost) which can be activated the frame you transition to freefall when going over the edge of out-of-bounds water. I did think this might be doable at the edge of waterfalls, but all the ones I tried had either sloped ground or an auto-jump trigger at the edge.
I demonstrate this in Sunken Ship, since this is the only place in any run (namely, NG All Brushes) where you swim along the edge of OoB water. If you like to risk your run on a 1-frame trick, you can do a Dive Boost (maybe multiple?) to move faster than normal swim speed and refresh your breath meter. I figure this could be useful in a TAS, but otherwise not so much.

For those unfamiliar, the All Brushes category requires us to collect all brush techniques AND upgrades (e.g. Fireburst, Mist Warp, Cherry Bomb 2/3, etc.). This makes for a longer run, but one with many interesting routing possibilities due to the many objectives that can be completed at any time.
This run had a lot of mistakes and sloppy play, but it was just better-enough than the previous run to save over 2m. Wawku was the biggest flop, but there were many smaller mistakes sprinkled all over the run. The first sub-3:50 for NG AB ^_^
Definitely a lot of time left to save in this category. Sub-3:40 is *probably* doable, but it will take a lot of work. Im starting to think sub-3:30 isnt feasible for a human.
