This video demonstrates an alternate method for activating the flower used to skip the scripted Igloo Turtle fight in NG runs. The method is to do a sliding ground tackle off the rock shown in the video, roughly in the direction of the flower, then double jump and tackle. I'm not sure exactly the critical parameters as I only just discovered this.
This is almost definitely not faster for NG Any%, as this rock is very out-of-the-way compared to the currently used spot. However, it may save time for NG AB and Top Dog which go toward the dojo anyways.

For those unfamiliar, the All Brushes category requires us to collect all brush techniques AND upgrades (e.g. Fireburst, Mist Warp, Cherry Bomb 2/3, etc.). This makes for a longer run, but one with many interesting routing possibilities due to the many objectives that can be completed at any time.
This run had a lot of mistakes and sloppy play, but it was just better-enough than the previous run to save over 2m. Wawku was the biggest flop, but there were many smaller mistakes sprinkled all over the run. The first sub-3:50 for NG AB ^_^
Definitely a lot of time left to save in this category. Sub-3:40 is *probably* doable, but it will take a lot of work. Im starting to think sub-3:30 isnt feasible for a human.

This run was a lot of fun. I did manage to fix many of the mistakes of the previous WR, but a fair number of things did go wrong, keeping it pretty tense all the way to the very end.
The main thing that saved this run was a much faster 2nd Fire Tablet Skip, along with some cleaner play in various areas. This run was actually up to 1m 12s ahead at the end of Orochi Phase 1 on the Ark of Yamato, but then phase 2 went terrifically wrong, causing me to end up only 23s ahead at the very end.
This run beats the previous wr by me (2h 28m 30s https://youtu.be/SS1xnHssD6g) by 23s.
This run was originally intended to just be commentary practice for the speedrunning marathon I was accepted to, Midfall Speedball (https://horaro.org/mfsb2019/schedule). This run is literally this Saturday, so chances are its already past by the time youre reading this. Feel free to try to find the VOD though, Im sure it will be very fun!
Once the marathon is over, Ill probably do some NG All Brushes runs, as Ive mostly finished routing that category.
