When your loved one goes missing, it’s all hands on deck until they’re safely home again.
On Tuesday, January 20, a daughter called us after her elderly father had wandered away from his home and they were concerned for his safety. We don’t take reports like that lightly.
Our Missing Persons Unit tapped the help of our Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone), Aviation, and Canine Units to find him. Within an hour of our search, we had narrowed down where he might be. K9 Officer Clint Hart and Police Service Dog Boomer were closing in, when our drone pilot spotted what he believed could be the man. Our officers immediately went to that area and found him, sitting alone in a wooded area.
This is just one example of the incredible teamwork our units use to make sure our community stays safe.
