The 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day are known as the deadliest time for traffic crashes. We’re teaming up with other agencies for Operation Southern Slow Down and will have extra officers out looking for dangerous drivers.
We’ve seen 101 traffic-related deaths in Duval County in 2026 alone. Our officers are working around the clock to keep our roadways safe through enforcement, education, and a commitment to protecting the lives of everyone on Jacksonville’s roads.
Speeding continues to be one of the leading factors in deadly crashes. Remember to slow down and follow the speed limits while on the road so you can stay safe and avoid a ticket.
