This week I have a VERY special video brought to you by a musical creatrix known as Motion Sickness of Time Travel, and by the Buckland Museum of Witchcraft & Magick in Cleveland, OH. This is an unboxing and flip-through of "The Oddments Tarot" deck, an original collage art deck that was created by Motion Sickness of Time Travel, and just released earlier this year (2019)!
If you visit the Buckland Museum, you will hear eerie and mystifying soundscapes emerging from hidden corners as you peruse Raymond Buckland's collection of magickal artifacts and other fantastical memorabilia. That's how I first heard the audio stylings of Motion Sickness of Time Travel, a musician and artist from Georgia. And since they sent the Buckland Museum a few decks for their gift shop, that's also how I got my hands on one of the few copies of this wonderful art deck in order to share it with all of you! At the time I recorded this, there were two decks available on the online shop. As of the time I'm uploading the video, it's sold out online! I think that means the only remaining decks are at the Museum... but I'm not sure! So I feel really privileged to be able to share this with a wider audience, so we can all at least see and appreciate the art that went into it, and if you download the album, the music inspired by its creation.
The music in this video was used with permission. I decided to go with a couple of my favorite Witchy tracks from the album "Magick Box" rather than the "Oddments" album that actually goes with the deck. Check it out at the link above and support if you like it!
