Did the Exodus actually happen? Was there ever a global flood? Did the walls of Jericho really come tumbling down? For millions of people, those aren't questions. They're facts. It’s what I learned in Sunday school, before 2+2. But archaeologists have been busy. They dug where the stories say to dig. And what came out of the ground will shock most Christian literalists.
For the next few hours, we’re going to give the Bible the exact same scrutiny we'd apply to any other ancient document. We’re going to be comparing what the text itself claims happened up against the actual archaeological and historical evidence.
I’m Thomas Westbrook, a former missionary kid, youth pastor, and missionary and for the last 10+ years, I’ve been researching this topic, interviewing experts, and have been up to my eyeballs in archaeological reports. Because I believe that truth withstands scrutiny. So let’s scrutinize!
