North West Cork is the location for section 3 of the Beara-Breifne Way and The Ireland Way.

The North West Cork Way follows on from my tough two hikes in the previous sections. Although there is not much elevation change hard roads dominate the hiking in this section. Starting off in Millstreet I had to make my way to John's Bridge via Newmarket and Lismire and with very few Elvis's (waymarkers) to guide me.

It is, however, the amazing people I met on the trail that made this part so special and in this video, I give you taste of how wonderfully friendly they are in this area are.
