In this Nordic Naturals Arctic Cod Liver Oil Review, I taste test this cod liver oil and give you my opinion of its taste. I share my reason for using this fish oil, then take it for 5 days before sharing my final thoughts on it. You'll also hear my daughter's thoughts about this cod liver oil.
When it comes to fish oil, up to the point of this review, I'd never used any. I was, however, familiar with the top brands of cod liver oil through my experience of working at Whole Foods. Based upon my experience with looking into fish oil supplements, Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil and Carlson Labs Cod Liver Oil are the only ones I feel good about recommending.
Regarding Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil, I think that it tastes pretty good. It's lemony, and the fish taste is very mild. It also tastes very fresh. Regarding the benefits of using cod liver oil, I personally prefer to eat fish, but for anyone looking for a source of DHA and EPA in supplement form, I'd say it doesn't get much better than the Nordic Naturals cod liver oil. Omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil are known to be essential for the brain's development and function.
This particular supplement has vitamin D in the form of cholecalciferol added. My understanding is that cod liver oil already has some vitamin D even without adding it, like Nordic Naturals has.
Nordic Naturals is known for using exclusively wild-caught Arctic cod from the waters around Norway for their cod liver oil supplement.
Taking everything into account, I am confident in recommending this specific fish oil. It's third-party tested for impurities, and the additional ingredients are simple enough.
